Away for 1 WEEK !!!

HAllo to all

I will be away for one week for a nose operation. I am suffering from Muschelhyperplasie and Septumdeviation which cause me cant breathe through nose properly. I have this since I was born and I am already used to it. But somehow (long story..) I discovered about my nose problem and it is also confirmed by ENT (Ear,Nose and Throat) specialist.

To get this operation done I need to travel to Karlsruhe hospital.

So... this will be my... 3rd operation in Germany. the 1st and the 2nd time were my wisdom teeth operation. So now I need to get prepare for 1 week clothing, entertainment.... dont know what to expect as it is my 1st time to be admitted in a hospital.

Well, one week cant go online. ( dont know how to survive without internet... :D )

Am I afraid of the operation??
Well, I would say yes... but I am very much looking forward to it, looking forward to breathe better.

This operation costs in National University Hospital (NUH) 1500EUR. Here in Germany it is covered by the insurance. I just need to pay 10eur per day for hospitalisation.

Ok then. I need to continue packing and then catch the train.
All of you take care

Alles Liebe
Jason

Now my job is getting interesting. I am working in 3 departments now. 2 Logistics department and purchasing department.

So the timetable is like this:

10.00am-12.30pm COM SP C LP (Purchasing)
1.30pm-3.30pm COM SC ML FN CLC BSL IP (Logistics)

Now I have lesser time to write my blog, or read online articles.

I dont have much time left for internship. So really have to make use of this opportunity to learn as much as possible and also to contribute as much as I am able to.

Thanks to the head of the departments for giving me a broader working experiences.

At the new department, the coffee machine is even more gaya!!!
(Gaya is our hokkien word means cool in english/Geil is German)
It is a FOC automated coffee machine with about 10 choices. You can have wien coffee, italian coffee, capuccino, normal coffee, mocha offica, chocolate drink... thats all I can remember.

I also just realised that Siemens doesnt provide free coffee to everything departments. I notice that in the production department, the workers have to buy from the automated machine which is located just outside their departments.

Anyway.. coffee time now... bye

They are from Poland!!

Wunderschoen....

MAMA PAPA, how do I exist??

Kids here usually will ask their parents, how they exist in this world, where they are from. I have forgotten if I asked such a question to my parents.

In Germany, this is how the parents answer their children.

Mother: This bird carried you from far far away and give you to me. Asked me to become your mama.

Another version.

At Untergrombach

Mother: I pray to God that He will give me a baby. There is where I collect you.

anyone know other versions??

What should do I during the 4 day-long weekend??

Ok... There is another long weekend holiday. From Thursday till sunday. I travelled to Reutlingen to bother Khon again.

After my arrival immediate Khon took me to a BBQ organised by his cousin, Hung.

In Germany there are lots of big green ground, especially by the lake. The germans family or groups of friends will have BBQ outing as the weather is so good, no mosquito, longer day time during summer.

Other than BBQ, we went to Freibad (open air bath) in Tübingen. Now it is already summer and the germans will go to Freibad for swimming and sun bathing since there is only one quartel of the year when the sun shines strongly.

Freibad in Tübingen has a very big field with beautiful soft grass and lots of trees as well as swimming pools.

At the Freibad.

I got to meet this girl, Khaleda, german from Afghanistan.

Look at that!!

Anyway, she is very friendly and easy to mix with. She is still stuying and wants to become children teacher.

After Freibad we went for ice cream again. Ice cream in Germany is very important..hehehe..

Now let me talk more about the Quang's family.

Khon has 3 other younger brothers. 2 of them are twins.

Surprisingly, one of his twin brothers names Jason too. It was quite confusing at Khon's place as I dont know if Khon, his mum or dad is calling me or another Jason.

The 2 kids below are Khon's cousins. They are very active and playful.

Now let me talk about Khon's mum speciality. Vietnamese Food!!
Actually honestly I havent eaten before Vietnamese food until when I was at Khon's place.

This one I find it very interesting.

It is a piece of rice paper. It is hard like plastic intially. 1st it has to be wet in the water and then place it on a plate. Put whatever ingredient that you wish like prawn, meat, beansprout, veges, white noodle and so on. Then you wrap it and rolling it.

This is what you will get finally. Pretty interesting.

Then his mum baked Pau!! Very delicious. Even though they complained that the pau contained too less salt, I liked it very much. Khon's mum packed some for me to bring back to Bruchsal.

Then we went out to meet Hung and Hung's friend, Michalle, who intend to do his PhD in german language and literature studies. Currently he is teaching german latin. We went to Tübingen, and rented a cycling boat to cycling along the Neckar river.

Neckar Town in Tübingen.

Michalle and Hung

We were chasing after the swan... and ducks too... :P

Then the scenary was also very nice...

After that we went to Neckar Beer Garten to have some drinks.

We met up Heinrich and Khaleda again one day.

From the back: Khaleda, Khon, Heinrich and I
Four of us were playing piano at the same time!! Piano quartet!!

On friday night, as it is the beginning of the weekend, many students will gather around at the market square of Tübingen, sit on the floor, drink bier and chit chat. I wont see that in Malaysia or Singapore as it is illegal to gather around in the public. It was very unique and special to me.

Khaleda, I, Khon and the Camera man:Heinrich

Many groups scattering around...

Along the Neckar river, there are many nice and antique houses at the side. At then there is a wall, where one can sit on it.

The photo above, in the middle on the bricks wall(which is still not occupied),we were sitting there. We bought ice cream.. again... and on on the wall. Heard that sitting on this wall is very typical in Tübingen.

Khon and Heinrich

My Legs :P

Other than Khaleda, Heinrich and Michalle, I have also met two more medic student, Daniel and Benedict.
Daniel is from USA, studying medinice is the Uni of Tübingen.
Benedict, a german, will be coming over to Singapore for his internship at Singapore General Hospital. I have given him my contact and will be bringing him around Singapore.

Well, I would say again that I have had another great time in Reutlingen. Thanks to Khon, his parents and his friends.

Tier Park

In the town (Forst) where Sarah lives, there is a animal farm. Like a mini zoo, with different type of animals from other part of the world.

This monkey is very agressive. Benjamin was feeding him a small piece of apple, the monkey, in stead of taking the apple, he graped Benjamin's whole hand. scary... unheimlich..

Goodbye Winter. Hello Summer...

Winter is finally over. Water Sport resorts can also finally start their business.

Benjamin, Sarah and I went to a Lake resort at Heidesee. There was a resort opening day. Free entrance (Only for the opening day or else it costs I think €3). There were games, foods and performance. There was this game which Ben and I played.

I was supposed to pull the car with this rope and Ben was supposed to push and adjust the stearing wheal of the car so that the car will pass through 2 poles, without knocking them down.
Forth and back with the most minimum time consumption. Still waiting for the result see if we can win anything...heheh... I guess no more...

Me and Benjamin...

Quite fun though...

Exploring the unexplored...

One day I was very bored.... I went out for cycling but forgot to bring my map and therefore I decided to explore the outskirt of the town without knowing where I will head to.

While I was cycling up the hill, on my left I saw this narrow street...It seems to me that it will lead me to somewhere mysterious. So I was thinking.. should I go in ... should I not?

I went in nevertheless.... since the road is nicely formed.

Then after passing through the dark path... I see...

WOW!!! It's a big big farm. I see no house, I see no people except for some flying insects...

I cycled and cycled but it seems that there is no ending... I dont know where the road will lead me to if I keep on cycling.

Anyway... I was tired and I cycled back home and sleep. hehehee:P

But on the way, I bought 2 scoops of ice cream...
