What should do I during the 4 day-long weekend??

Ok... There is another long weekend holiday. From Thursday till sunday. I travelled to Reutlingen to bother Khon again.

After my arrival immediate Khon took me to a BBQ organised by his cousin, Hung.

In Germany there are lots of big green ground, especially by the lake. The germans family or groups of friends will have BBQ outing as the weather is so good, no mosquito, longer day time during summer.

Other than BBQ, we went to Freibad (open air bath) in Tübingen. Now it is already summer and the germans will go to Freibad for swimming and sun bathing since there is only one quartel of the year when the sun shines strongly.

Freibad in Tübingen has a very big field with beautiful soft grass and lots of trees as well as swimming pools.

At the Freibad.

I got to meet this girl, Khaleda, german from Afghanistan.

Look at that!!

Anyway, she is very friendly and easy to mix with. She is still stuying and wants to become children teacher.

After Freibad we went for ice cream again. Ice cream in Germany is very important..hehehe..

Now let me talk more about the Quang's family.

Khon has 3 other younger brothers. 2 of them are twins.

Surprisingly, one of his twin brothers names Jason too. It was quite confusing at Khon's place as I dont know if Khon, his mum or dad is calling me or another Jason.

The 2 kids below are Khon's cousins. They are very active and playful.

Now let me talk about Khon's mum speciality. Vietnamese Food!!
Actually honestly I havent eaten before Vietnamese food until when I was at Khon's place.

This one I find it very interesting.

It is a piece of rice paper. It is hard like plastic intially. 1st it has to be wet in the water and then place it on a plate. Put whatever ingredient that you wish like prawn, meat, beansprout, veges, white noodle and so on. Then you wrap it and rolling it.

This is what you will get finally. Pretty interesting.

Then his mum baked Pau!! Very delicious. Even though they complained that the pau contained too less salt, I liked it very much. Khon's mum packed some for me to bring back to Bruchsal.

Then we went out to meet Hung and Hung's friend, Michalle, who intend to do his PhD in german language and literature studies. Currently he is teaching german latin. We went to Tübingen, and rented a cycling boat to cycling along the Neckar river.

Neckar Town in Tübingen.

Michalle and Hung

We were chasing after the swan... and ducks too... :P

Then the scenary was also very nice...

After that we went to Neckar Beer Garten to have some drinks.

We met up Heinrich and Khaleda again one day.

From the back: Khaleda, Khon, Heinrich and I
Four of us were playing piano at the same time!! Piano quartet!!

On friday night, as it is the beginning of the weekend, many students will gather around at the market square of Tübingen, sit on the floor, drink bier and chit chat. I wont see that in Malaysia or Singapore as it is illegal to gather around in the public. It was very unique and special to me.

Khaleda, I, Khon and the Camera man:Heinrich

Many groups scattering around...

Along the Neckar river, there are many nice and antique houses at the side. At then there is a wall, where one can sit on it.

The photo above, in the middle on the bricks wall(which is still not occupied),we were sitting there. We bought ice cream.. again... and on on the wall. Heard that sitting on this wall is very typical in Tübingen.

My Legs :P

Other than Khaleda, Heinrich and Michalle, I have also met two more medic student, Daniel and Benedict.
Daniel is from USA, studying medinice is the Uni of Tübingen.
Benedict, a german, will be coming over to Singapore for his internship at Singapore General Hospital. I have given him my contact and will be bringing him around Singapore.

Well, I would say again that I have had another great time in Reutlingen. Thanks to Khon, his parents and his friends.

Yes. Life is wonderful in Germany. The people here really know how to enjoy life. They work, and enjoy. Comparatively we are more like workaholic.
